    Description

    This is a great item... 1 new spool of  LIGHT COPPER colored copper wire for fly tying.
    This is a medium size...it is 28 gauge (.0126").
    This wire is a "non-tarnishing" high quality wire used for ribbing and body material for nymph bodies.  This is the same wire as the name brand wire (Ultra/UTC).   I have four sizes of this wire.
    Here is the chart for wire to hook sizing suggestions:
    Medium (28 gauge / .0126"), sizes 2-8 hooks.  Brassie (30 gauge / .0100") 8-18 hooks.  Small (33 gauge / .0071") 16-20 hooks.  X Small (38 gauge / .0040") 22 and smaller.  Wire size used will  vary with the hook style and pattern you are tying.  This is just an estimate.
    This copper wire makes your flies more durable, especially when tying peacock herl and pheasant tail bodies, while adding a fish attracting little flash to boot.  Tie and rib flies like the Brassie, Hare's Ear, Prince, and Copper Johns as well as midge patterns to name a few.  This also adds weight to your flies that make them "sink like a brick" and is excellent for making dubbing brushes and segmented nymph bodies.
